70.3

疏「故經云隨行智為導首故」者，經文但有身語意業隨智慧行，論經云「智慧為首隨順轉」，故疏具用二句之意，以智先導，釋其隨行。初智導起，起已不失於智，即是隨行故。

Regarding the Commentary's phrase 'Therefore the sūtra states that cognition in accord with practice serves as the forerunner': the sūtra text merely has bodily, verbal, and mental karma according with and following wisdom, whereas the treatise's sūtra text states 'with wisdom as the foremost, turning in accordance.' Hence the Commentary uses the intent of both sentences, taking cognition as the forerunner to explain its accordance with practice. When cognition initially guides its arising, once arisen it does not lose cognition; this is precisely accordance with practice.
