疏「前念雖滅」下，釋經次第之言。然有二意：一即就上因滅果生以明次第；二「亦是因即頓熏」下，唯就果中以明次第，如六地明。

Regarding the commentary's "Although the preceding thought-moment has ceased" downwards: it explains the word "succession" in the sūtra. There are two meanings: first, clarifying succession directly in terms of the cessation of cause and arising of fruit above; second, from "also, the cause immediately perfumes suddenly" downwards, clarifying succession solely within the fruit, as explained in the sixth ground.
