80.39

疏「此中之成」下，第四廣徵釋。先徵、後「此是華嚴大節」下釋。於中二：先標示；後「然諸眾生」下別釋，即五教意，兼人天為六：初人天乘、二「小乘」下二乘、三「大乘」下始教、四「或說唯如來藏」下終教、五「更有」下頓教、六「若依此宗」下圓教。於中四：一正釋、二解妨、三結例、四重釋。

On the Commentary's passage from "The realization herein" downward: fourth, a comprehensive interrogation and explanation. First it interrogates, and then from "This is the grand turning point of the Avataṃsaka" downward it explains. Within this there are two parts: first, a preliminary demonstration; then, from "However, all sentient beings" downward, a distinct explanation. This presents the purport of the five teachings, plus that of humans and gods, making six: first, the vehicle of humans and gods; second, from "the Hīnayāna" downward, the two vehicles; third, from "the Mahāyāna" downward, the initial teaching; fourth, from "or teaching only the tathāgatagarbha" downward, the final teaching; fifth, from "furthermore there are" downward, the sudden teaching; and sixth, from "if relying on this school" downward, the perfect teaching. Within this [sixth] there are four sections: 1. the correct explanation, 2. resolving objections, 3. concluding by analogy, and 4. reiterating the explanation.
