81.40

疏「然今文中」等者，就別得名，中二：一上別顯三義；二次下會釋經文，明具三義。「若事若理」下，即是總結。然若事即前事離，若理即前性離，此正約法因果，即兼結前行位也。然此釋名，疏文妙矣。易則易焉，故不委釋。

Regarding the commentary's passage, "However, in the present text..." and so forth: this concerns the specific obtaining of names, within which there are two parts: first, above, it distinguishes the three meanings; second, below, it synthesizes and explains the sūtra text, showing that it possesses the three meanings. From "Whether phenomena or principle..." onwards is the general summary. Here, 'phenomena' refers to the previous detachment from phenomena, and 'principle' refers to the previous detachment from nature; this directly concerns the causes and fruits of the Dharma, and also concludes the previous practices and stages. Now, in this explanation of the name, the text of the commentary is marvelous. Since it is readily accessible, it is not explained in further detail.
