81.9

疏「涅槃不空者謂有善色」者，遠公引此證色為體，今亦一義。常身法身、栴檀座塔，《楞伽》之義，前皆已引。疏「妙色湛然」者，六卷《泥洹經》純陀歎佛云：「妙色湛然常安隱，不為時節劫數遷，大聖曠劫行慈悲，獲得金剛不壞體。」餘可知。

On the commentary’s "That nirvāṇa is not empty means there is wholesome form": Master Yuan cited this to prove that form is the essence; here it is also one meaning. The eternal body and dharmakāya, the sandalwood throne and stūpa, which are doctrines of the Laṅkāvatāra, have all been cited previously. On the commentary’s "Marvelous form is serene": in the six-fascicle Niḥsāṇa-sūtra, Cunda praises the Buddha, saying: "The marvelous form is serene and ever tranquil, / Not shifted by seasons or kalpas; / The Great Sage practiced compassion throughout vast kalpas, / Attaining the adamantine, indestructible body." The rest can be understood.
