82.44

疏「第二二門明福智者」下，疏文有二：一總標二門、二「福智即道」下釋二助道。具言乃有三義：一單福是道，單智亦然；二合二為道；三雙絕為正道。助道具亦三，可知。

Commentary: "Second, the two gateways clarifying merit and cognition" and so forth: the commentary text has two parts: first, a general indication of the two gateways; second, from "merit and cognition are the path" downward, explaining the two assisting paths. Stated fully, there are three meanings: first, merit alone is the path, and cognition alone is likewise; second, uniting the two constitutes the path; third, the mutual severance of both constitutes the correct path. The assisting paths also fully possess three, as can be known.
