疏「然此下八喻」，亦約二乘料揀。以初一喻聲聞但有不得法喜之一德耳，故此下八具於通別。

In the commentary, "however, the eight similes below" is also a differentiation regarding the two vehicles. Because the first simile indicates that the śrāvakas only lack the single virtue of not obtaining the joy of Dharma, the eight below are fully endowed with both general and specific [meanings].
