85.17

疏「馳驟三界」者，書云「堯舜安車、夏殷步驟。」言其道不及前。今以一乘為安車。安車牛車，尚異二乘羊鹿，豈況三界步驟。

Regarding the Commentary's phrase 'galloping through the three realms', the [ancient] books say: 'Yao and Shun rode in comfortable carriages, while Xia and Yin paced and ran.' This means that their Dao did not measure up to their predecessors. Now, the One Vehicle is taken as the comfortable carriage. The comfortable carriage and the ox cart are already different from the sheep and deer carts of the two vehicles, so how much more so compared to the pacing and running of the three realms!
