85.22

疏「法無人弘雖慧莫了」，即暗用上經〈須彌頂上偈讚〉云「譬如暗中寶，無燈不可見。佛法無人說，雖慧莫能了。」

The Commentary's 'if the Dharma is not propagated by someone, though one has wisdom, one cannot comprehend it' implicitly uses the verse of the sūtra above in the 'Verses of Praise on the Peak of Mount Sumeru', which says: 'Just like a treasure in the dark / cannot be seen without a lamp; / if the Buddhadharma is not spoken by someone, / though one has wisdom, none can comprehend it.'
