88.5

「第四普救眾生妙德主夜神寄焰慧地」者，謂安住最勝菩提分法，燒煩惱薪，慧焰增故。疏「後二句是等覺」者，不言十地者，上二句文十地顯故；餘位義隱，故別指耳。疏「表真精進却從定生」者，真精進者離身心故，非定無此。

"The fourth night-goddess, Sarvajagad-rakṣā-praṇidhāna-vīryaprabhā (Wondrous Virtue Universally Saving Sentient Beings), corresponds to the Ground of Flaming Wisdom (Arciṣmatī)": because she abides in the supreme dharmas contributing to bodhi, burning the fuel of afflictions as the flames of wisdom increase. As for the Commentary's "the latter two lines are equal enlightenment": not mentioning the ten grounds is because the text of the first two lines clearly indicates the ten grounds; the meanings of the other ranks are hidden, hence pointing them out separately. As for the Commentary's "expressing that true vigor conversely arises from samādhi": true vigor is free from body and mind, and without samādhi this does not exist.
