9.40

疏「更有一類機」下，上來牒列前之四門生起第五，明第五門非前四攝也。疏「六、顯密同時」者，是天台八教中祕密、不定之二教也。

The commentary's words, "There is yet another category of faculties..." and so forth: having cited and listed the preceding four gates, this introduces the fifth, explaining that the fifth gate is not subsumed under the previous four. The commentary's words, "Sixth, the exoteric and esoteric are simultaneous," refer to the two teachings among Tiantai's eight teachings: the secret and the indeterminate.
