Regarding the commentary's "Quantitative cognition encompasses and pervasively reaches" and what follows: this is the second, clarifying individually in accordance with the aspects. Within this there are two: first, illustrating the two cognitions; second, illustrating the four cognitions.\nIn the former, it takes the meaning of "encompassing" from the previous analogy and the meaning of "pervasive" from the latter analogy, using both meanings to illustrate quantitative cognition together. Because quantitative cognition knows distinctions, it resembles the meaning of encompassing; knowing every phenomenon without omission is the meaning of pervasiveness. Regarding "Fundamental cognition realizes and enters without conceptual differentiation": this takes the meaning of "non-differentiation" from the previous analogy, and the meaning of "equanimous conforming entry" from the latter analogy, generally taking both meanings to illustrate fundamental cognition. For fundamental cognition is non-conceptual cognition, and only then can it realize and enter into tathatā.
