Regarding the Commentary's 'The slight good of the Nirvāṇa' and below: Separately citing another sūtra to establish its first meaning. This is fascicle twenty-one, the 'Bodhisattva Noble Virtuous King Chapter'. Bodhisattva Vaiḍūryaprabha came from the Akṣobhya world, and Bodhisattva Abhayaprada asked the Buddha: 'What karma should sentient beings of this land create so as to be born in that Akṣobhya world?' The Buddha answered in verse, extensively listing the ten virtues, by each of which one is born there. Regarding 'slight good', that text has a verse saying: 'If toward the Buddha, Dharma, and Saṅgha / one offers a single incense lamp, / or even presents a single flower, / one will be born in the Akṣobhya realm. / If for the sake of fear, / material gain, and merit, / one writes a single verse of this sūtra, / one will be born in the Akṣobhya realm.' It also says: 'Making an image or a stūpa / the size of a thumb, / constantly generating a joyful mind, / one is immediately born in the Akṣobhya realm.' This is what it refers to.
