The Commentary states: "Second, boundless lights and colours, namely, manifest-colour." That sūtra says: "Adorned with the most supreme shining seven jewels, emitting great radiance that universally illumines all boundless worlds." The treatise's commentary says: "This means the great palace is adorned with the most supreme shining seven jewels; or because of the jewel adornments, the most supreme radiance is emphasized here. Provisionally speaking of seven jewels, in reality the pure land is decorated and adorned with countless wonderful jewels beyond worldly comprehension; hence this sūtra says 'boundless lights and colours.'" Again, the treatise's commentary on emitting great radiance and so forth says: "This means the great palace emits great radiance universally illumining all boundless worlds. Or, the essence of the great palace pervades the boundless worlds, and thus it emits great radiance universally illumining all." Commentary: That sūtra has two phrases; the present sūtra, by saying "boundless lights and colours," already subsumes both. "Boundless lights" is its phrase on emitting boundless light. "Boundless colours" is the initial 'most supreme shining,' and so forth.
