Regarding the commentary's "is the portion of great exhaustion" downward, the commentary explains the treatise. Regarding "entering the Tathāgata's ten kinds of secrets": the sūtra states, "Furthermore, one enters the Tathāgata's secret places, namely: the body secret, the speech secret, the mind secret, the timely and untimely secret, the secret of conferring predictions on bodhisattvas, the secret of gathering living beings, the secret of the various vehicles, the secret of the faculties and practices of all living beings, the secret of actions performed by karma, and the secret of obtaining predictions of bodhisattvahood. All such as these one knows as they truly are." Regarding the commentary's "hence praising Vimalakīrti saying" downward, it cites proof, which is Mañjuśrī's praise in the "Inquiring about Sickness" chapter. The sūtra states: "At that time the Buddha said to Mañjuśrī: 'Go visit Vimalakīrti to inquire about his sickness.' Mañjuśrī addressed the Buddha, saying: 'World-Honoured One! That superior person is difficult to respond to. Having deeply penetrated the true mark, he is skilled in expounding the essentials of the Dharma; his eloquence is unhindered and his wisdom is unimpeded; he fully knows all bodhisattva rules and rituals; there is none of the secret treasuries of all Buddhas that he does not enter; subduing the hosts of Māras, he sports in supernormal powers; his wisdom and upāya have both reached the other shore.'" Here, one phrase is taken.
