63.55

As for the Commentary saying, "In the former, they are combined into the three trainings," and so forth: in explaining the preceding six, there are two approaches of differentiation: first, in terms of practice; second, in terms of stage. Now, the first briefly addresses the sūtra text. How are the distinct characteristics of the two purifications of view and doubt made evident? Because these two are both two among the six fundamental afflictions. Attachment to precepts and vows is derived from the six, and furthermore, grasping it as the path has a subtle characteristic that is difficult to see, so it constitutes a distinct clause.
