1.28

二放光別者，說《法華經》雖放眉間毫相果光，所照境界但言萬八千土皆如金色，仍有限量，不稱無邊無量無盡故，但彰果法不彰因位。《華嚴》一部經典，教行因果，表法光明始終具十，後當更明。

Second, the difference in the emission of light: in expounding the Saddharmapuṇḍarīka Sūtra, although [the Buddha] emitted the light of the fruit from the ūrṇā-curl between his eyebrows, the realm illuminated was only said to be eighteen thousand lands, all turning golden; it still had limits and did not accord with the boundless, immeasurable, and inexhaustible, merely manifesting the fruit-dharma without manifesting the causal stages. Throughout the Avataṃsaka, as a single scripture, teaching and practice, cause and effect, and the light symbolizing the Dharma fully possess ten [instances] from beginning to end, as will be explained in detail later.
