Second, the Dedication that is Indestructible clarifies that by means of the wisdom of true principle, one enters entanglements to benefit sentient beings and accomplishes the precepts of great compassion, because one penetrates the conventional nature as true, and true and conventional are non-dual. What the Saddharmapuṇḍarīka Sūtra names the "wondrous Dharma lotus flower" is precisely this meaning. That this sūtra is named the "Mahāvaipulya Buddhāvataṃsaka" is also this meaning: because based on the wisdom of principle and great compassion, the intrinsically pure awakening of the dharmadhātu raises myriad practices, it is called the Buddhāvataṃsaka Sūtra. This clarifies that the bodhisattva, with the great wisdom and great compassion of the Dharma-nature, does not abandon worldly currents and acts of identical work, which is called "water". Possessing the practice of Samantabhadra is called the "lotus". Awakening and practice mutually assisting each other is called the "wondrous Dharma"; hence it is called the "Dedication that is Indestructible". The true nature suffers no detriment even while flowing along into the conventional; this is called "indestructible". It clarifies that natureless bodhi and non-abiding wisdom possess sovereignty. Here, it is manifested by relying on the concrete matter of the Garuḍa King, which is the golden-winged bird. In this section of text, the meaning is divided into four: first, citing the assembly's number; second, lodging the stage to express the Dharma; third, explaining names to match the practices; fourth, concluding the number and praising their virtues.
