13.69

十五「諸佛子」已下有八行半經，明第四如來於舊道場中出現。大威光去世，生須彌山頂為大天王，還來見佛獲益而去。此一品經來文未足，未有結終之處。此品但明引古印今，毘盧遮那出世之法，古今相習不異。又明所信樂道高法勝，人壽命長遠，福德所居依正果勝，見佛聞法所獲利益勝故。

Fifteenth, the eight and a half lines of the sūtra from 'O Sons of the Buddha' onward explain that the fourth Tathāgata appeared in the former bodhimaṇḍa. Great Radiance passed away and was born atop Mount Sumeru as a great heavenly king, who returned to see the Buddha, obtained benefit, and departed. The transmitted text of this single chapter is incomplete and lacks a concluding portion. This chapter merely explains the citing of the ancient to verify the present: the dharma of Vairocana's appearance in the world is practiced continuously from past to present without difference. Furthermore, it explains that because the path believed in and delighted in is high and the dharma is superior, human lifespans are long, the circumstantial and primary fruitions of merit wherein they dwell are superior, and the benefits obtained from seeing the Buddha and hearing the Dharma are superior.
