2. Explaining the bodhisattva's name: He is named Matiśīrṣa (Wisdom Leader) to explain that wisdom can know capacities and provisionally bestow the Dharma-medicine. The four means of embracing, the four immeasurables, the ten pāramitās, and the thirty-seven aids to awakening are administered according to where illnesses arise and multiply, causing them to take them. Manifesting the unconditioned nature of bodhi and gradually causing them to rely on the source, he is named Matiśīrṣa. This is the lower world, explaining that taking the approaches of the ten pāramitās such as giving, precepts, patience, diligence, and meditation as the earth, it can give rise to all pure dharmas. The world is named Crystal-colored; this is white, like the color of rock-crystal jewels. The Buddha is named Pure Wisdom to explain that the mind is like the great earth, bearing all things and always serene. 'Pure' (brahma) means undefiled.
