Fifth, explaining the meaning according to the text: the two meanings are as before. First, the outline of the sūtra's meaning: in this section on the sixth ground, the meaning is divided into nine sections. First, from the beginning there is a section of eighteen lines of sūtra text, which is divided into two sections. First, there are seventeen lines of verse clarifying that upon hearing the Dharma approach of the fifth ground, the great assembly rejoices, raises offerings, and sings praises. Second, the single line at the bottom clarifies that Vimukticandra further requests the subsequent ground. The sūtra text itself contains this. Second, the section of nine lines of sūtra text following 'At that time' clarifies contemplating the ten equal dharmas and cultivating the orientation toward the sixth ground. Third, there are ten sections of sūtra text clarifying the contemplation of the twelve links of pratītyasamutpāda in forward and reverse order. Fourth, there is a section of seven and a half lines of sūtra text clarifying that by contemplating and realizing that the twelve links of pratītyasamutpāda have no essence, one attains the section of the liberation of emptiness. Fifth, there is a section of ten and a half lines of sūtra text: the section on contemplating the twelve links, great compassion increasing even further, and practicing vigorously. Sixth, there is a section of six and a half lines of sūtra text clarifying that on this ground of presence, one attains the section of the ten samādhis of emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness. Seventh, there is a section of nine and a half lines of sūtra text clarifying that, abiding on this ground of presence, one further cultivates the indestructible mind to enter the section on the ground of the Buddha's wisdom. Eighth, there is a section of twenty-seven and a half lines of sūtra text clarifying the breadth and narrowness of seeing Buddhas upon entering this stage. Ninth, there is a section of forty-four lines of verse reiterating the preceding dharmas.
