36.16

第二推德昇進門中，從「諸菩薩」已下至「辭退而去」有八行半經，約分四門：一推德昇進、二示善知識方處及所居之城名為妙光、三舉善知識王名大光、四頂禮辭去。經云「城名妙光」者，此同第八住、第八地無功智慧妙用，是本位之中差別智滿。王名大光者，名根本智。自餘如文自具。

In the second section, "Praising virtue and advancing," from "All bodhisattvas..." down to "bid farewell and departed," there are eight and a half lines of the sūtra, divided summarily into four headings: 1. Praising virtue and advancing; 2. Indicating the kalyāṇamitra's location and the city where he resides, named Wondrous Light; 3. Giving the kalyāṇamitra king's name, Great Light; 4. Prostrating and bidding farewell. The sūtra saying "the city is named Wondrous Light": this is identical to the effortless wondrous functioning of wisdom in the eighth abode and eighth ground; it is the fulfillment of discriminating wisdom within one's own stage. The king being named Great Light designates fundamental wisdom. The rest is self-contained as in the text.
