Second, concerning interpreting the meaning following the text: this section takes the fundamental uncreated wisdom-nature as naturally all-pervading, and uses shadow-like wisdom to manifest all realms. Self and other mutually enter one another; the one and the many are unobstructed. Due to fundamental wisdom, the many enter into the one; due to shadow-like wisdom, the one manifests many realms, each with distinct physical colours and appearances. As for 'that upon which worlds depend': practicing in the present life is the cause for future lives. 'The establishment of worlds' explains the principles and patterns of the establishment of each distinct world. 'Worlds abiding together' means that within a single world many classes of sentient beings dwell together. 'The radiance and colors of worlds' refers to cases where sentient beings abide within the Buddha's radiance. For instance, the sun, moon, and stars are transformed by the collective karma of monarchs and beings in the human realm, their essential brilliance ascending aloft; furthermore, there are deities who dwell in them, residing within. 'The comings and goings of worlds' refers to their sustained movement and revolution to and fro in empty space, which this bodhisattva fully knows. The names of the gods of the eight classes are as already explained in the First Assembly. 'The dharma of pudgalas': [a pudgala is] 'one who repeatedly takes rebirth,' explaining that by repeatedly adopting unwholesome phenomena one is led to painful retribution. 'The dharma of māṇavas': the teachings for youths. The rest is fully detailed in the sūtra itself.
