Second, from his two knees emerge countless hundreds of thousands of koṭis of kṣatriyas and brāhmaṇas, all of whom are wise and intelligent: because the two knees are the means for standing, stopping, sitting, lying down, bending, and extending with complete freedom. The knees also emanate pure royal lineages, symbolizing that wisdom governs birth and death with the freedom of a king. 'Kṣatriya' means royal lineage; 'brāhmaṇa' means pure conduct. This symbolizes that wisdom follows birth and death freely, like a king without defilement. 'Wise and intelligent' means clearly understanding the myriad phenomena. The 'various forms and appearances' are transformed and manifested from wisdom. The rest are all practices within wisdom, so one should grasp them according to their significance.
