Vajradhvaja (the bodhisattva, and so on below) says: / "The physical body is not the Buddha, / Nor is sound either; / Yet not apart from form and sound / Is the Buddha's supernatural power seen. / Sentient beings and all dharmas / Are comprehended entirely without obstruction; / He universally manifests various physical forms, / Pervading all lands." / Dṛḍhadhvaja says: / "What person of wisdom, / Having seen and heard the Buddha, / Would not cultivate pure vows / And tread the path traversed by the Buddha?" / Śūradhvaja says: / "Just as a person who finds a treasure / Forever leaves behind the suffering of poverty, / A bodhisattva who attains the buddha-dharma / Leaves defilement and his mind is pure. / Even if through countless kalpas / One offers wealth and jewels to the Buddha, / If one does not know the Buddha's true mark, / This too is not called giving. / Just as the realm of empty space / Neither arises nor ceases, / The dharmas of the buddhas are like this, / Ultimately without arising or cessation." / Prabhādhvaja says: / "Comprehending the dharmatā as empty and quiescent, / Arising like an illusion, / That which is practiced is inexhaustible; / The Guide manifests in this way. / The dharmakāyas of all buddhas of the three periods of time / Are all pure; / In accordance with those to be transformed, / They universally manifest wondrous physical bodies." / Jñānadhvaja says: / "In all lands / He universally manifests immeasurable bodies; / His body is not in any place, / Nor does it abide in dharmas. / Just as the pure full moon / Universally appears in all waters; / Although the reflections are immeasurable, / The original moon was never two. / In this way, with unhindered wisdom, / Accomplishing equal and perfect enlightenment, / He universally appears in all lands, / And the Buddha's substance too is not two." / Nakṣatradhvaja says: / "Sentient beings falsely discriminate: / 'This is the Buddha, this is the world.' / For one who has comprehended the dharmatā, / There is neither Buddha nor world." / Dharmadhvaja says: / "If there are sentient beings / Who have not yet generated bodhicitta, / Once they hear the Buddha's name, / They will definitely achieve bodhi. / If a person of wisdom / In a single thought generates the aspiration for the Path, / He will surely become the Unsurpassed Honoured One; / Take care not to give rise to doubt. / The Tathāgata's sovereign power / Is hard to encounter in immeasurable kalpas; / If one gives rise to a single thought of faith, / One will swiftly realize the unsurpassed Path. / Even if in thought after thought / One makes offerings to immeasurable buddhas, / If one has not yet known the true Dharma, / It is not called an offering. / Even if exhausting the limits of the future / One travels everywhere across buddha-lands, / If one does not seek this wondrous Dharma, / One will ultimately not achieve bodhi."
