At that time, the World-Honoured One was in the Paranirmitavaśavartin Heaven Palace together with a great assembly of bodhisattvas. Those bodhisattvas were non-retrograde from bodhi, gathered from other directions, abided in the realm where all bodhisattvas' wisdom abides, and entered the place entered by the Tathāgata's wisdom. Beyond worlds numbering as many as the dust-motes of ten billion buddha-realms in each of the ten directions, there were buddhas numbering as many as the dust-motes of ten billion buddha-realms, all named Vajragarbha, who appeared before him and praised the Bodhisattva Vajragarbha: 'You have been able to enter this samādhi of the radiance of wisdom, just as all those buddhas jointly empowered you' (the rest is as in the preceding Tuṣita Chapter). The buddhas of the ten directions conferred upon him body and wisdom, and each extended a hand to stroke his head. Bodhisattva Vajragarbha arose from samādhi and universally addressed the bodhisattva assembly: 'Sons of the Buddha! The vows of the bodhisattvas are good, definitely unmixed, ungraspable, vast as the dharmadhātu, ultimate like empty space, extending to the ends of the future, saving and protecting sentient beings in all buddha-realms, protected by the buddhas, entering the bhūmi of the wisdom of the buddhas of the three periods of time.' Having listed the ten bhūmis, he remained silent. Vimukticandra made three requests, and all the great bodhisattvas requested in one voice. Between his eyebrows, the World-Honoured One emitted a pure light named 'Flaming Radiance of Bodhisattva Power', attended by hundreds of thousands of asaṃkhyeyas of rays of light as its retinue, illuminating the ten directions, pacifying all wretched destinies, illuminating the assemblies of buddhas, and empowered by all buddhas. Having performed these deeds, [the light entered] the body of the Dharma-preaching Bodhisattva and then came to rest above in the sky, forming a terrace-dais of great radiant light and a network of clouds. In order to cause the great assembly to increase their pure faith, he spoke verses. Having spoken them, he extensively praised the virtues of the bhūmis: 'Sons of the Buddha! Abiding in this Joyful Bhūmi (Pramuditā-bhūmi), because one is mindful of all buddhas, a joyous mind is produced; because one is mindful of the Buddha-Dharma; because one is mindful of all bodhisattvas; because one is mindful of bodhisattva practice; because one is mindful of the pure pāramitās; because one is mindful of the excellence of the bodhisattva bhūmis; because one is mindful of the indestructibility of the bodhisattva powers; because one is mindful of the Tathāgata's teaching and transforming of sentient beings; because one is able to bring benefit to sentient beings; because one is mindful of the skillful means of the wisdom of all Tathāgatas (as in the initial clause).' Again, one reflects: 'Because I have turned away from all worldly realms; because I am close to all buddhas; because I am far removed from the bhūmi of ordinary people; because I am close to the bhūmi of wisdom; because I have eternally cut off the wretched destinies; because I serve as a refuge for sentient beings; because I behold all Tathāgatas; because I am born into the buddha-realm; because I enter the sameness of all bodhisattvas; because I have left behind all terrors, horripilation, and such matters (also as in the initial clause). Why is this? It is because this bodhisattva has abandoned the five fears.' Regarding each and every phenomenon, it is described as vast as the dharmadhātu, and so forth.
