「勝鬘夫人」下，上來明授記竟，今第二明大眾願生。就文為二：初正願生；「世尊悉記」下，第二明佛如願與記。授記之興，正為此意也。佛所以記者，進此往生眾生勳淨土耳。

From 'Queen Śrīmālā' onward: the above concluded the explanation of bestowing the prophecy; now the second part explains the great assembly's vow to be born there. In the text there are two parts: first, directly vowing to be born there; from 'The World-Honoured One prophesied for them all' onward is the second part, explaining that the Buddha bestowed prophecies in accordance with their vows. The arising of bestowing prophecies was precisely for this purpose. The reason the Buddha bestowed the prophecies was to encourage these sentient beings who are to be born there to perfume the pure land.
