Second is the section on explaining the name. Now I shall first explain the name of the four truths; the other three names will be explained later. This chapter is titled "Expounding the Boundless Noble Truths." Skillfully discriminating within the non-discriminative is called "expounding." Suffering, origination, cessation, and the path are fully real and not false, and are therefore called "truths." Furthermore, because they can generate non-deluded, real understanding, they are called "truths." "Noble" refers to the buddhas; discriminating the truths with respect to the noble ones is why they are called "noble truths." Furthermore, because these truths can generate undefiled noble understanding, designating them after the noble, they are called "noble truths." Finite truths are called "having boundaries" (finite), while infinite truths are called "boundless" (infinite); hence they are called "boundless noble truths."
