經曰「壞裂魔網解諸纏縛」者，述云：此第二、利他修也。魔網者，即天魔之教。纏縛者，即八纏三縛。有說：十纏四縛。於小乘宗雖有此義，非大乘故。即壞魔網令離惡業，解纏縛而使絕煩惱故。

On the passage "Tearing apart the net of Māra, untying all entanglements and bonds": The commentary states: This is the second, the cultivation of benefiting others. The 'net of Māra' is the teachings of the heavenly Māra. 'Entanglements and bonds' are the eight entanglements and three bonds. Some say: ten entanglements and four bonds. Although this meaning exists in the Hīnayāna school, it is not Mahāyāna. Thus, tearing apart the net of Māra causes beings to leave behind evil karma; untying entanglements and bonds causes them to sever afflictions.
