經曰「如來以無蓋大悲矜哀三界」者，述云：此後、別歎問利。有四：此初、彰佛悲憐也。有經本云「無盡大悲」，有人釋此，依內無盡法而生故。今即佛之大悲，更無覆蓋，故名無蓋。無蓋是正，不可須治。矜，亦憐也。

The sūtra says: “The Tathāgata, with great compassion that has no cover, takes pity on the triple world.” The commentary states: This is the last part, specifically praising the benefit of the question. There are four parts; this is the first, revealing the Buddha's compassionate pity. Some sūtra recensions say “endless great compassion”; someone explained this as arising based on internal, inexhaustible dharmas. Here, because the Buddha's great compassion has no further cover or concealment, it is called “without cover.” “Without cover” is correct and must not be altered. “Take pity” (矜) also means compassion.
