2.88

經曰「時彼比丘」至「殊勝之願」者，述云：第五、正修勝行。有三：此初、覩相發願也。既見所求淨土之相，攝淨土願更轉深，故云超發勝願。

Regarding the passage from the sūtra where 'Then that bhikṣu' up to 'transcendent and supreme vows', the commentary states: The fifth [section is] the actual cultivation of the supreme practice. This has three parts: here is the first, making vows upon beholding the manifestations. Having seen the features of the Pure Land he sought, his vow to embrace the Pure Land became even deeper; hence it is said that he 'transcendently brought forth supreme vows'.
