On the passage in the sūtra from "Yet worldly people of frivolous customs" to "matters that are not urgent": The commentary states: The second part explains the defilement and evil of the Sahā world to cause people to feel revulsion and abandon it. It has four parts: 1. revealing the faults of the afflictions; 2. exhorting them to cultivate renunciation; 3. explaining the faults of sinful karma; 4. repeatedly exhorting them to cultivate renunciation. The first also has three parts: first, distinguishing the faults of greed; next, showing the faults of anger; finally, the faults of ignorance. The first also has two parts: first, the general presentation. "Urgent" (ji) means near, and also distant. Worldly people are shallow in their customs, and with minds of greedy desire, they jointly contend over matters of the five desires of the present world that are not urgent.
