答曰：「如經中說，此諸外道，常隨世尊，不相捨離。然結集之家，簡取外德，故有異名。是外道者多，非者少。」
Answer: "As explained in the sūtras, these former non-Buddhists constantly followed the World-Honoured One, never separating from him. Yet the compilers singled out their external virtues, hence there are different names. Those who were non-Buddhists were many; those who were not were few."
