2.61

一、從時韋提希下，至憔悴已來，正明夫人為子幽禁。此明夫人雖勉死難，更閉在深宮，守當極牢無由得出。唯有念念懷憂，自然憔悴。傷歎曰：禍哉今日苦，遇值闍王喚，利刃中間結，復置深宮難。

First, from 'At that time Vaidehī' down to 'haggard' clearly explains that the lady was imprisoned by her son. This explains that although the lady escaped mortal peril, she was further shut in the deep palace, guarded extremely securely with no way to get out. She could only harbor grief from moment to moment, naturally becoming haggard. She lamented in grief, saying: 'How calamitous is today's suffering! Meeting with Ajātaśatru's summons, the sharp blade was poised between us, and now I am placed in the distress of the deep palace.'
