Second, from "This defiled and evil place" down to "not see evil persons," it clearly shows that the consort pointed out the realm she reviled. This clarifies that Jambudvīpa is evil overall, with not a single place worthy of craving; yet delusional fools are infatuated by it and drink of this long-lasting suffering. The phrase "this defiled and evil place" directly indicates the realm of suffering. Furthermore, it clarifies the receptacle world, which is also the place of circumstantial retribution for sentient beings, also termed the place upon which sentient beings depend. From the phrase "hells..." down, the three lowest evil fruits are the heaviest. The word "filled" means that these three collections of suffering do not merely refer to Jambudvīpa alone; the Sahā world is completely filled with them, hence it is said to be "filled." The phrase "many assemblies of unwholesome beings" clarifies that across the three realms and six destinies there are various kinds, countless as the sands of the Ganges, differing according to their minds. The sūtra says: "Karma can adorn consciousness; life after life and place after place, in their respective destinies, beings receive retributions according to conditions, yet face-to-face they do not know one another." From the phrase "May I in the future..." down, it clarifies that the consort's genuine mind reached its peak: reviling the suffering of the Sahā world, she rejoiced in unconditioned bliss, longing to return forever to eternal joy. However, the unconditioned realm cannot be attained lightly, and the painful Sahā world cannot be escaped heedlessly. Unless one gives rise to a diamond-like resolve, one cannot forever cut off the source of birth and death; unless one personally attends upon the Compassionate Honoured One, how could one be delivered from this long grief? Now, regarding "May I in the future hear no evil sounds and see no evil persons," this clarifies that, like King Ajātaśatru and Devadatta who killed the father and split the Sangha, along with evil sounds and the like, she wished neither to hear nor see them. Since King Ajātaśatru was her own son, and yet gave rise to murderous intent against his parents, how much more might unrelated strangers harm one another? Therefore, the consort did not distinguish between relatives and strangers, but cast them all away at once.
