Second, from “one should first contemplate a sixteen-foot [image]” onward, it directly explains contemplating an image to manifest the true, and visualizing water to manifest the ground. This is the Tathāgata teaching sentient beings to change the object and shift the mind to enter contemplation: either upon the flowers in the pond water, or within the jeweled palaces and jeweled pavilions, or beneath the jeweled groves and jeweled trees, or amidst the jeweled terraces and jeweled halls, or within the jeweled clouds and flower canopies in the sky. In such places, focusing the mind and visualizing each one, all are visualized as transformation Buddhas, so that the capacity and the object correspond, making accomplishment easy to achieve.
