Second, from "visualize each of them" down to "cannot be fully explained," it directly discriminates the signs of the visualization's accomplishment. Here there are six points: first, it explains that the mind fixes upon a single object and must not contemplate in a mixed and confused manner; second, it explains that once focused on a single object, that object appears before one, and once it appears before one, it must be made clear and distinct; third, it explains that once the object has appeared in the mind, whether closing the eyes or opening the eyes, one must guard it so that it is not lost; fourth, it explains that in the four postures of the body, day and night one should constantly be mindful of it, remembering and upholding it without abandoning it, except when sleeping; fifth, it explains that when the concentrated mind is uninterrupted, one will see the aspects of the Pure Land—this is called "seeing within the conceptualizing mind," because there are still thought and reflection; sixth, it explains that as the conceptualizing mind gradually subtilizes and reflections are abruptly eliminated, one accords with samāpatti and realizes samādhi. Truly seeing the wondrous and subtle realities of that realm, how could they be fully described? That ground is boundless in expanse, the jeweled pillars are not just one, the various gems shine with color, and their transformations are exceedingly manifold. Therefore, sentient beings are exhorted to devote their minds, keeping it constantly as if before their eyes.
