四、從命欲終時下，至即得往生已來，正明第九門中終時善惡來迎。即有其九。一明罪人命延不久。二明獄火來現。三明正火現時遇善知識。四明善人為說彌陀功德。五明罪人既聞彌陀名號即除罪多劫。六明既蒙罪滅火變為風。七明天華隨風來應，羅列目前。八明化眾來迎。九明去時遲疾。

Fourth, the passage from "when life is about to end" down to "they immediately attain rebirth" directly clarifies, within the ninth gate, the arrival of good and evil to receive [the dying person] at the time of death; herein there are nine points. First, it clarifies that the sinner's life will not last long. Second, it clarifies that the fires of hell appear before them. Third, it clarifies meeting a good spiritual friend right when the fires appear. Fourth, it clarifies the virtuous person expounding the merits of Amitābha for their sake. Fifth, it clarifies that when the sinner hears Amitābha's name, offenses of many kalpas are immediately eradicated. Sixth, it clarifies that with offenses extinguished, the fire turns into a cool breeze. Seventh, it clarifies heavenly flowers arriving with the breeze, arrayed before their eyes. Eighth, it clarifies transformed beings arriving to welcome them. Ninth, it clarifies the speed of their departure.
