Fourth, the passage from "such a foolish person" down to "offenses binding one to birth and death" directly clarifies receiving present benefits upon hearing the Dharma and being mindful of the Buddha; herein there are ten points. First, it clarifies reiterating the person who creates evil. Second, it clarifies that life will not last long. Third, it clarifies meeting a good spiritual friend at the verge of death. Fourth, it clarifies the virtuous person comforting and instructing them to be mindful of the Buddha. Fifth, it clarifies that the suffering of death oppresses the sinner, leaving no means to practice mindfulness of the Buddha's name. Sixth, it clarifies the good friend, knowing that suffering causes loss of mindfulness, redirecting them to vocally recite Amitābha's name. Seventh, it clarifies the count of recitations being continuous, voice after voice without interruption. Eighth, it clarifies the eradication of offenses of many kalpas. Ninth, it clarifies that through right mindfulness at the end of life, a golden lotus immediately appears. Tenth, it clarifies the speed of departure, arriving directly in the land to which they return.
