十四、就上輩觀行善文前總料簡。即為十一門。一者總明告命。二者辨定其位。三者總舉有緣之類。四者辨定三心以為正因。五者正明簡機堪與不堪。六者正明受法不同。七者正明修業時節延促有異。八者明迴所修行願生彌陀佛國。九者明臨命終時聖來迎接不同，去時遲疾。十者明到彼華開遲疾不同。十一者明華開已後得益有異。

Fourteenth, regarding the general discrimination before the text on cultivating goodness of the upper grade of contemplation, there are eleven gates: first, explaining the address and instruction in general; second, determining its stage; third, citing those with karmic affinity in general; fourth, determining the three minds as the primary cause; fifth, directly explaining selecting capacities as capable or incapable; sixth, directly explaining differences in receiving teachings; seventh, directly explaining differences in the length and brevity of the periods of cultivating practice; eighth, explaining dedicating the practices cultivated to vow to be reborn in Amitābha’s Buddha-land; ninth, explaining differences in the sages coming to welcome at the end of life, and the slowness or swiftness of departure; tenth, explaining differences in the slowness or swiftness of the lotus opening upon arriving there; eleventh, explaining differences in the benefits attained after the lotus opens.
