十六、就下輩觀善惡二行文前料簡，即為十一門。一者總明告命。二者辨定其位。三者總舉有緣生類。四者辨定三心以為正因。五者簡機堪與不堪。六者明受苦樂二法不同。七者明修業時節延促有異。八者明迴所修行向所求處。九者明臨終時聖來迎接不同去時遲疾。十者明到彼華開遲疾不同。十一者明華開已後得益有異。上來雖有十一門不同，總料簡下輩三位竟。

Sixteenth, regarding the preliminary examination before the text on the contemplation of the lower grade's two practices of good and evil, there are eleven gateways: First, generally clarifying the announcement. Second, determining their standing. Third, bringing up the kinds of beings who have karmic connection. Fourth, determining the three minds as the primary cause. Fifth, examining capacity for suitability and unsuitability. Sixth, clarifying the differences in the two teachings of suffering and joy. Seventh, clarifying the differences in the duration and brevity of time for cultivating karma. Eighth, clarifying dedicating the practice cultivated toward the place sought. Ninth, clarifying the differences in the holy beings coming to welcome at the end of life and the speed of departure. Tenth, clarifying the differences in the speed of the flower opening upon arriving there. Eleventh, clarifying the differences in benefits gained after the flower opens. Although there are eleven distinct gateways above, the general examination of the three standings of the lower grade is concluded.
