「『云何當見阿彌陀佛極樂世界？』」未來眾生，一生不值佛、二濁惡轉盛、三苦逼益深。業障如此，疑無見土之理，有何方便令得見乎？三、如來答其所請，又二：初、標示繫想處；二、別列十六觀法。初、標示繫想處。

"'...how shall they see the Sukhāvatī world of Amitāyus Buddha?'" As for future sentient beings: first, throughout their lives they will not encounter a Buddha; second, the defilements and evils will become ever more rampant; third, the oppression of suffering will become increasingly deep. With karmic hindrances like these, one would doubt there is any principle by which they could see the land; what expedient is there to enable them to see it? Third, the Tathāgata's answer to what she requested has two parts: first, indicating the focus of mental contemplation; second, individually listing the sixteen contemplation methods. First, indicating the focus of mental contemplation.
