「佛告阿難及韋提希：『若欲至心生西方者。』」若欲者，則揀非欲不預此法也。二、示觀法，二：初、觀佛；二、觀二菩薩。初、觀佛，五：初、先觀小身；二、後觀大身；三、舉像況真；四、身量不定；五、指餘諸相。初、先觀小身。

"The Buddha told Ānanda and Vaidehī: ‘If there are those who wish with a sincere mind to be born in the West,’" "If there are those who wish" selects those without the wish as not participating in this method. Second, showing the method of contemplation has two parts: first, contemplating the Buddha; second, contemplating the two bodhisattvas. First, contemplating the Buddha has five parts: first, first contemplating the small body; second, afterwards contemplating the large body; third, citing the image to illustrate the reality; fourth, the indeterminate size of the body; fifth, pointing to the remaining marks.
