"‘The practitioner hears a voice from the sky praising them, saying: "Good son! A good person like you! Because you have complied with the teachings of all Buddhas of the three periods of time, I have come to welcome you."’" The Buddhas of the three periods of time all exhort upholding the precepts, severing evil, and cultivating goodness; therefore, upholding the precepts here is itself compliance.
