經曰：「青色青光、黃色黃光、赤色赤光、白色白光」，次釋第三光色也。然此經但有四色，準《清淨覺經》、《觀經》，一一華葉皆作異寶色，何獨青色但有青光也？按諸經據彼華，非一一華有種種色，此經但據純色者說。

The sūtra says: "Blue-colored with blue light, yellow-colored with yellow light, red-colored with red light, white-colored with white light." Next, this explains the third: the light and color. Now, this sūtra mentions only four colors, but according to the Pure and Clean Enlightenment Sūtra and the *Contemplation Sūtra*, each and every flower petal shows the colors of different jewels; why would blue only have blue light? We observe that the various sūtras speak on the basis of those flowers not having various colors within each individual flower; this sūtra merely speaks on the basis of those with pure, unmixed colors.
