Eighth is the wind producing wholesome thoughts, meaning that when the wind sways the trees and nets, producing wondrous sounds, those who hear them immediately produce wholesome thoughts. The *Sukhāvatīvyūha Sūtra* says: Sentient beings who hear the sound of the wind, trees, and nets attain deep dharma-patience, abide in avaivartika until attaining the Buddha path, and their faculty of hearing becomes clear and penetrating, suffering no afflictions. This text has four parts: first, being swayed by the pure wind; second, the expounding through musical sounds; third, hearing and producing wholesome thoughts; fourth, concluding the completion of Sukhāvatī.
