Answer: "When the treatise speaks of an intention regarding another time, it has two meanings: first, because that land is an exceptionally joyous place and cannot be born into with slight merit; second, seeing that sentient beings mostly do not cultivate the Path and merely make vows in vain. Having these two intentions, it therefore spoke of another time, which is what the Amitābha Sūtra means when it says: 'One cannot attain rebirth through slight roots of goodness.' If one recites the Buddha's name at the six times of the day, then the three activities are without fault, which is simply upholding the ten wholesome deeds; or for one day up to seven days, due to reciting the Buddha's name, a single thought eliminates the transmigratory sins of eighty koṭis of kalpas. This is having manifold practice and further vowing to be born, so that practice and vow support each other."
