答：「物機不等，為化亦殊。若唯於一佛有緣則始終自化，若於二佛有緣則彼此共化，是故釋迦現穢土而折伏，彌陀現淨土而攝受，此折彼攝共熟眾生令至菩提耳。」

Answer: 'The capacities of beings are not uniform, and teaching them also differs. If they have affinity with only one Buddha, then from beginning to end he transforms them himself; if they have affinity with two Buddhas, then both transform them together. Therefore Śākya manifests a defiled land to subdue them, and Amitābha manifests a pure land to gather them in; this subduing and that gathering together mature sentient beings to bring them to bodhi.'
