四、論用者，此經以捨苦得樂為用也。用謂力用，依言修習能捨此方之眾苦，得受彼國之極樂，是經之力用也。論用竟。

Fourth, discussing the function: this sūtra takes casting off suffering and attaining bliss as its function. 'Function' refers to dynamic efficacy. By practicing in accordance with the words, one can cast off the manifold sufferings of this world and attain the utmost bliss of that land; this is the dynamic efficacy of the sūtra. The discussion of the function is concluded.
