佛說阿彌陀經者，其偏讚之謂歟。吾愛其辭簡而理明、其文約而事備，足可以誘弱喪而擊童蒙焉。於是約龍樹之宗、準智者之說，依經辨理為之義疏，若極深研幾則吾豈敢，庶乎有助於真風、為益於後昆爾。

The Sūtra on Amitābha Spoken by the Buddha is precisely what is meant by such specific praise. I cherish its concise phrasing and lucid principle, its economical text and complete coverage of matters, sufficient to guide the weak and lost and to strike through the blindness of the uninstructed. Thereupon, taking Nāgārjuna's lineage as the guideline and modeling upon Zhizhe's explanations, I rely on the sūtra to discern the principle and have made this expository commentary. As for probing the deepest subtleties and investigating the minutiae, how could I presume? I merely hope it may assist the true tradition and benefit future generations.
